Crew Onboarding

Joining Aero Lloyd Virtual

Welcome. Becoming part of our crew takes four short steps. Here is exactly what to expect, what you will need, and how long each stage takes.

1
Entry Exam
~10–15 minutes · instant result

A short multiple-choice exam on basic airline-operations knowledge. You enter your email, answer the questions, and see your result immediately.

  • Passing score: 75%
  • Unlimited attempts — retake after a 2-day cooldown
  • Passing unlocks a one-time registration link

Requirement  A valid email address you can access.

2
Registration
~5 minutes · unlocked by the exam

Once you pass, you create your crew account through the secured registration link. Please have the following ready:

  • First and last name (your last name is shown only as an initial publicly)
  • A password containing at least one special character
  • Date of birth — minimum age 16
  • SimBrief ID, ATC platform (e.g. VATSIM) and your simulator

Note  The registration link works once and is tied to your exam pass.

3
Review by the HR - Team
Manual review · typically 48–72 hours

Every application is read personally by our HR - Team. We look at your motivation and background to make sure Aero Lloyd Virtual is the right fit for you. Your status shows as pending while you wait.

You don't need to do anything during this stage — we will reach you by email.

4
Decision
By email · welcome or update

Accepted

You receive a welcome email with your personal Crew ID and a link to your Crew Center. You're on the crew — time to fly.

Not this time

You receive a courteous email explaining the decision. You are welcome to apply again after a short 21-day waiting period.

After you join

Stay current by flying now and then

Flying keeps your status green — three landings within 90 days is all it takes, and there's no hurry to get them. One or two landings simply show amber as a friendly heads-up, and you can top up whenever you're next in the cockpit. A quiet spell is completely fine; if life gets busy, just request leave and everything pauses.

Going away? Take leave

Real life comes first. If you'll be away, request leave from your HR Center — up to 90 days per calendar year are approved automatically; longer requests are reviewed by the HR - Team. Approved leave pauses your currency, and no flying is required while you're on leave.
