Aero Lloyd Virtual Airbus A320 and A321 custom liveries

The Fleet

Our Fleet

The Aero Lloyd Virtual fleet consists exclusively of modern Airbus A320 family aircraft. With twelve airframes split equally between the A320 and A321, we combine efficiency, flexibility and capacity across our network.

Under the ATC callsign "Aero Lloyd", we operate our network across Europe from our home base in Frankfurt.

Short & Medium Haul

Airbus A320

Together with the Airbus A321, the A320 forms the foundation of our fleet. Its versatility makes it the ideal aircraft for everything from short domestic sectors to longer leisure flights. Operating a large share of our daily schedule, the A320 can be found on routes ranging from Hamburg and Edinburgh to destinations across the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula.

Five of our A320 are equipped with CFM56 engines and Sharklets. The Sharklet retrofit improves fuel efficiency compared to the older wingtip fence configuration, a saving that compounds noticeably on longer legs. The sixth airframe is powered by IAE V2500 engines with classic wingtip fences, giving us operational experience across both engine families.

Cabin layout is configured for 180 passengers in a single-class economy arrangement. At typical load factors, the A320 burns between 2.0 and 2.5 litres of kerosene per passenger per 100 km — performance figures that place it among the most efficient narrow-body aircraft of its generation.

Stretched Medium Haul

Airbus A321

Together with the Airbus A320, the A321 forms the foundation of our fleet. Its additional capacity makes it the preferred aircraft for high-demand routes and longer sectors across our network. With six airframes in our fleet, the A321 operates our longer leisure routes to the Canary Islands and Madeira, as well as high-demand domestic and intra-European services where the additional capacity is needed.

Five of our A321 carry CFM56 engines with Sharklets. The sixth airframe is powered by IAE V2500 engines with wingtip fences. Despite the A321’s higher gross weight, fuel burn per passenger remains competitive with the A320 thanks to the increased cabin density.

The increased maximum take-off weight of 93.5 tonnes allows us to operate at full payload to destinations beyond four hours flight time. Note that the A321’s range is slightly shorter than the A320’s at approximately 5,950 km — the trade-off for carrying significantly more passengers and cargo on the same airframe family.

Did you know?

Sharklet-equipped airframes burn approximately 3–4 % less fuel than their wingtip-fence predecessors. Over a 5,000 km sector that translates to roughly 200–300 kg less kerosene per flight.
